Paul Taylor's Focus For Cumberland County

Education

Better education, which empowers our youth to find what they are passionate about and teaches them that “hope,” is more than just a four-letter word. As a community leader, it has been Paul Taylor’s goal to maintain laser focus on what drives and inspires our youth since this has proven to be a fruitful investment time and time again within our society. Focusing on career training and promoting the value of hands-on experience in a way that caters to our current education level with the goal to elevate our education rating.

Economy

Small businesses drive the economic success of our community and it is critical that we are investing our support. Not only for local business owners but also to promote equal pay for women and real jobs that pay realistic wages! Equity among our workforce should be at the forefront of what we strive for. This is made possible by business owners adopting this perspective. Spreading awareness with regard to resources and the benefits of operating in a community-centric fashion, is a great place to start. That is a focus and part of Paul Taylor’s vision.

Environment

With all areas of environment considered, building programs that provide members in our community the resources needed to obtain and maintain a safe and healthy living environment is a priority. The choices made today will determine the environmental conditions for future generations. It is because of this that Paul Taylor’s aspirations around cleaner living have become the foundation of his efforts to raise awareness on the importance of being more environmentally conscious as a community. There is a shortage of support and education related to what self-sustained living looks like and Paul Taylor strives to change that!

Eliminate Homelessness in the Next Cumberland County Commissioner Election

As we move toward a more proactive “Housing First” model – a model that is supportive of providing permanent housing with wraparound supportive services where needed – we look to our partner agencies and the community for support in addressing the needs of our homeless. This model, when combined with a coordinated intake assessment program, will help the community to allocate assistance as effectively as possible and engage in meaningful change.

Ensuring that our community is not only a safe one, but a thriving one is of the utmost importance. This priority sits at the forefront of Paul Taylor’s mission and aims to make these values a reality for Cumberland County. As county commissioner, Paul Taylor is dedicated to focusing on not only safety but also education and the environment. The health and safety of Cumberland County is something that Paul Taylor sees as a priority and the foundation to a prosperous community.
